The Repair Café is free. But, as we do not recieve government aid we depend on donations made by the participants to at lease cover part of our expenses like electricity, rent, consumables etc.

WHAT CAN BE REPAIRED?

Which electronic devices?

Please don‘t bring any printers, fully-automatic coffee machines (at the moment we only fix drip coffee- or portafilter machines), or TV Screens, Desktops or amplifiers! These repairs take a lot of time and are rarely successful.

Computers and Laptops please only with Hardware or Mechanical Problems!

Smartphones

In our repair café it is possible to repair broken smartphones independently under supervision of iDoc-technicians. These models can be repaired without further ado:

iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S5.

Your can look at the free step by step instructions online beforehand, to get an overview of what to do.

For fixing smartphones we often need spare parts. You can find those yourself or you can order them at iDoc. To help the repair café initiative iDoc offers a discount of about 50% for the participants.

Other smartphone models can be repaired only after consultation.

Objects

Due to our capacity and equipment we can not fix any bikes or furniture.

But thankfully, there are other self-help workshops in the neighbourhood, like the Self-Help Bike Workshop oder der Self-Help-Wood Workshop in der Regenbogenfabrik.
